The official mascots for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games wer unveiled in the Japanese capital of Tokyo on Wednesday on stage in front of nearly 600 excited students at an elementary school in Tokyo's Shinagawa ward. The Olympic mascot is blue and white while the Paralympic mascot is pink and white. Both are chequered, doe-eyed and have pointy ears and are based on futuristic superheroes with ‘special powers’.
