The Macan T has now been added to the successful Porsche model range. This is the first four-door sports car that will bear this special designation, which was previously the preserve of the 911 and 718 models. The letter T has represented a unique form of dynamic driving at Porsche since the 1960s. It stands for 'Touring' and identifies models that offer an especially dynamic driving experience thanks to precise tuning, exclusive equipment and efficient engines. True to the spirit of the Porsche 911 T from 1968, the new Macan T features an incredibly dynamic setup and a lightweight, two-litre turbo engine, combined with an athletic design and a range of standard equipment that is ideal for a dynamic driving style. This concept positions the Macan T between the Macan and the Macan S.The two-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine in the Macan T combines great agility, low weight and a compact design to create a package that offers an ideal balance of weight and performance. Compared with the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 in the Macan S and GTS models, the powertrain in the Macan T weighs 58.8 kilograms less on the front axle. This gives the vehicle excellent acceleration from a standstill and optimum cornering ability.The Macan T has an output of 195 kW (265 PS) and 400 Nm of torque – characteristics that suit the vehicle design and deliver an exhilarating driving experience. As with most Macan models, the engine is coupled with a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel-drive system. A broad spread of torque provides responsive acceleration in all driving situations. When fitted with the standard Sport Chrono Package – including the mode switch and Sport Response button on the steering wheel – the Macan T accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 232 km/h.

That means a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, borrowed from the Panamera and Cayenne, sits in place of the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 found in the Macan S. Engine size might be down, but power is up from 348 to 434 horsepower. Torque, meanwhile, climbs to a robust 406 pound-feet from 354 lb-ft. The extra power means extra performance, with the Macan Turbo with the Sport Chrono Package hitting 60 in just 4.3 seconds and can carrying on to 167 mph. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission channels the power to a standard Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system.On the agility front, the usual options apply. An adjustable air suspension is available (it features "optimized rolling pistons and new shock absorber hydraulics"), as is Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and carbon-ceramic brakes. Unlike other Macans, the Turbo comes standard with Porsche's neat Surface Coated Brakes, which feature a tungsten-carbide coating that Porsche says reduces dust by 90 percent, increases responsiveness, and cuts down on wear.

They are at the cutting edge of Porsche E-Performance and are among the most powerful production models that the sports car manufacturer currently has in its product range. Less powerful variants of these all-wheel drive vehicles will follow this year. The first derivative to be added will be the Taycan Cross Turismo at the end of next year. By 2022, Porsche will have invested more than six billion euros in electromobility.
Six weeks after the Coupe's launch, attention turns to the Porsche 911 Cabriolet. The open-top 911 continues in a decades-long tradition, established when Porsche unveiled the prototype of the first 911 Cabriolet at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in September 1981: customers and fans alike were instantly captivated. The first open-top 911 variant rolled off the production line in 1982, and it has been a constant feature in the model range ever since. The open version of the 911, which marks the start in 2019 of an unprecedented product fireworks display, has all the innovations of the coupe. One of the Cabriolet-specific advanced features is the new hydraulic system which get the roof opened and closed more quickly.The new model echoes the modern lines of the Coupe, though it remains unmistakably a Porsche 911 in Cabriolet form. The fully-automatic soft top has an integrated glass rear window, while the soft top structure contains magnesium surface elements known as bows, which reliably prevent ballooning of the roof at high speeds. The soft top can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50 km/h. New roof hydraulics reduce opening time to around twelve seconds, while an electrically extendable wind deflector ensures that necks are shielded from wind impact.The Porsche 911 Cabriolet is initially available as a Carrera S with rear-wheel drive and Carrera 4S with all-wheel drive. Both rely on a 2,981 cm³ charged six-cylinder boxer engine with 331 kW (450 PS) at 6,500 rpm and 530 Nm torque between 2,300 and 5,000 rpm. The drive efficiency has been increased and emissions reduced by way of an improved injection process; other optimisation measures have also been implemented, such as a new layout for the turbochargers and charge air cooling system. The power is delivered by a newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Carrera S accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (with optional Sport Chrono Package: 3.7 seconds) and can reach speeds up to 306 km/h. The Carrera 4S attains a top speed of 304 km/h and achieves 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds (with optional Sport Chrono Package: 3.6 seconds).
