'In 2020, 30 million people were displaced due to climate change'

Description

Almost six years ago, close to 200 signatories came together and agreed to tackle climate change by aiming to keep global warming under 2 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. The Paris Agreement was lauded as a landmark deal that would change the future. But today, analysts say global emissions are set to rise more than 15 percent by 2030, which could lead to a temperature rise of 2.7 degrees Celsius. So are these international summits just hot air? François Gemenne, a specialist in environmental geopolitics and migration dynamics, joined us for Perspective.
