Hundreds of Panamanians clean beaches of trash and plastic

Description

Panama City, Sep 18 (EFE).- Hundreds of Panamanians turned out on Saturday to clean local beaches with the aim of highlighting the serious environmental problem posed by pollution of the oceans and raising awareness of the importance of reducing the use and consumption of plastics. Some 250 volunteers - including adults, teenagers and children - removed almost three tons of waste, mostly plastic, cloth and wood, piling it up in garbage bags. (Camera: CARLOS LEMOS).
