Sri Lankan authorities continue testing for Covid-19

Colombo, Aug 11 (EFE / EPA) .- Sri Lankan health authorities continued Wednesday to test for Covid-19 in Colombo, while the country lives its third wave of the pandemic.The Sri Lankan Medical Association has called on the government to shut down the country for at least two weeks to prevent increased infections.Since the beginning of the pandemic, Sri Lanka has registered more than 335,000 infections and 5,430 deaths from Covid-19.(Camera: CHAMILA KARUNARATHNE)SHOT LIST: COVID-19 TESTING IN COLOMBO, SRI LANKA.

    Colombo, Aug 31(EFE/EPA).- Sri Lankan Health workers wearing protective gear performed Tuesday COVID -19 swab tests at a temporary test facility in Colombo. The Sri Lankan government has extended an islandwide lockdown till September 6 2021 as a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus. According to Sri Lankan Health Authorities, 216 Covid-19 deaths were reported in Sri Lanka on August 30, the highest number in a single day since the pandemic began.
