Quezon City, Jul 20 (EFE/EPA).- Filipino muslims gathered at mosques across the country on Tuesday for a mass prayer session to mark Eid al-Adha. After the prayer, meat from an animal that was sacrificed was distributed to local residents.The festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael as a sign of submission to Allah, and coincides with the Hajj, the yearly Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest place in Islam.
