Thousands stage mobile protests across Bangkok against Thai Prime minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha

Thousands of protesters in cars and on bikes mass in Bangkok's central shopping district, one of several mobile rallies across Thailand demanding Premier Prayut Chan-O-Cha resign over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The kingdom is grappling with its worst outbreak so far, registering record numbers of daily infections each week as hospitals struggle to cope.

Prime Minister Chan-ocha informed the Thai people that the king's successor would be Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn and announced that Thailand would hold a one-year period of mourning, reducing entertainment-related events and activities for one month.. The Crown Prince is the only son of King Bhumidol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
