Istanbul continues to clean up "sea snot" in the Sea of Marmara

Istanbul (Turkey), Jun 8 (EFE / EPA) .- (Camera: Erdem Sahin) Istanbul continues with the cleaning and search of the marine mucus or marine mucilage that for a few days has covered large parts of the coast of Istanbul and the sea of Marmara. Due to global warming, this phenomenon, which can have serious consequences for marine life, threatens to become annual, scientists warn.FOOTAGE OF THE CLEANING OF THE MARMARA SEA.

  • Oil spill clean up continues in Mauritius

    Pointe D'esny (Mauritius), Aug 14 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Laura Morosoli) Clean up works continue off the southeast coast of Mauritius as oil from the grounded ship is damaging protected marine ecosystems. According to Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, who declared a state of an environmental emergency, most of the oil has been removed from the ship, however there are still fears the ship could break up spilling more oil into the ocean.
