French legislative elections: Leftist Melenchon bloc comes in 2nd with 25,66% of vote

French President Emmanuel Macron's centrist alliance faced a "defeat" in the first round of France's parliamentary elections, an analyst said on Monday. Macron's Ensemble! alliance of centrist parties won the first round of lower house elections on Sunday by a razor-thin margin over Jean-Luc Melenchon's leftist bloc, but is not certain to get an outright majority. FRANCE 24's Cole Stangler reports.
