Optimised battery management and infotainment - ŠKODA launches software update ME3 for ENYAQ iV

Description

ŠKODA AUTO will start installing the new ME3 software version for already delivered ŠKODA ENYAQ iV cars with immediate effect. This will enable increased range due to the optimisation of battery management. The software also offers numerous improvements for the Virtual Cockpit and the head-up display, the infotainment system and the ŠKODA Connect online services. Owners of qualifying vehicles will be contacted by their local ŠKODA retailer and asked to book a free service appointment to install the new software. The process takes about five hours. Future updates will be performed over-the-air. New ŠKODA ENYAQ iV vehicles and the ŠKODA ENYAQ Coupé iV will come with the new software as standard.

Efficient, emotive and electrifying – these attributes neatly sum up the ENYAQ iV. In launching its first all-electric SUV, the Czech car manufacturer has taken the biggest step yet in its electromobility strategy. The new ENYAQ iV is the first ŠKODA production model to be based on Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car platform. It is built at ŠKODA’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav, making it the only MEB-based model in Europe to be manufactured outside of Germany. ŠKODA’s new flagship boasts generous amounts of space as is typical of the brand, and – thanks to its emotive design language – its appearance is electrifying too. Inside, new Design Selections replace the classic trim levels, while a clear and new structure of the options available means the car can be configured with just a few clicks. The ENYAQ iV comes with rear- or all-wheel drive, and there are five power levels and three battery sizes to choose from. The range of more than 520 km in the WLTP cycle is perfectly suitable for travelling long distances. The car will be launched in the spring of 2021.

In addition to the production of electric vehicles, ŠKODA AUTO is also focusing on the development of the ŠKODA iV ecosystem. The Powerpass enables easy and convenient battery charging at points throughout Europe, including the Ionity quick-charging network. ŠKODA is also rapidly expanding the charging infrastructure at its dealers. For charging at home, the car manufacturer offers various ŠKODA iV Charger wall boxes and supports customers with planning and installation.
