Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said a visit to Kyiv on Thursday by four European leaders showed his country was not alone in its struggle against Russia's invasion. "Ukrainians today are on the frontline of the fight against Russian attacks. But they're not alone. And this is confirmed by today's visit of Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, Mario Draghi and Klaus Iohannis to Kyiv," he said.
The Kremlin said it hoped the leaders of France, Germany and Italy would not only discuss weapons supplies in their visit to Kyiv on Thursday, but rather to "push President [Volodymyr] Zelenskiy to take a realistic look at the state of affairs". The leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Romania met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Thursday in a show of support which Kyiv hopes will be followed by more weapons and tougher action to help in the war with Russia. FRANCE 24's Catherine Norris Trent reports.
