Country music singer and songwriter K.T. Oslin has died. She was 78. CNN reports Oslin had one of the most soulful voices in country music and came to fame with her anthem '80's Ladies.' She also won multiple Grammy and ACM Awards during her career. Oslin was inducted into the Texas Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018. Travis Tritt recalled touring with Oslin at the beginning of her career, and remembered her as a 'brilliant songwriter and one helluva lady.'
American music icon Dolly Parton looks her best no matter what, and for a very good reason. CNN reports that the living legend shared in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine that she never wants to be caught short if disaster strikes. I have to always stay ready -- street-ready, I always say. I have to be ambulance-ready at all times, if I get sick or something. Dolly Parton Parton joked she even wears high heels when she's at home, cooking, because she needed to be able to reach her cabinets. The living legend is currently making press rounds promoting her holiday album, 'A Holly Dolly Christmas.'
Singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman made a rare television appearance Monday night on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers.' CNN reports Chapman performed a moving, solo, acoustic rendition of her hit 'Talkin' Bout a Revolution.' At the end of the song, the four-time Emmy winner stepped away from the mic to reveal a small sign that read 'Vote.' Though Chapman has mostly shunned the spotlight, she has publicly advocated for voting in the past. In 2004, she performed in MoveOn.org's Vote For Change tour, to encourage people to register and vote in some swing states.
