More than one million Ukrainians have fled the country since the invasion began one week ago, with the vast majority arriving at neighbouring EU countries.
Syrian refugees in Turkey began returning to their homes in Tal Abyad on Wednesday after Kurdish forces seized the border town in a major blow to the Islamic State group, yet it is still unsafe for most of those 1.8 million refugees to return.
