In the district of La Laguna, on the island of La Palma, excavators continue to dig their way through the lava flows, with the aim of restoring connections as soon as possible.
"We can never say that volcanoes are completely stopped until years or even many months. So the longer the time it is in this position of 'no activity', the more probable that the eruption has finally ended," volcanologist Alexis Schwartz told Euronews.
Emergency teams on the Spanish island of La Palma began removing hardend lava from La Laguna Cross on Monday.
