  • Thailand tightens lockdown measures as Covid-19 cases surge

    Bangkok, Jul 20 (EFE/EPA).- Thailand has tightened lockdown measures for 13 high-risk provinces, including Bangkok, in order to curb a surge in COVID-19 cases that spiked in recent weeks. Starting on 20 July 2021, with strict health measures, people are not allowed to go outdoors unless necessary, movements in the high-risk provinces will be restricted and shopping malls will stay closed. People are encouraged to work from home and dine-in services at restaurants are banned. Hundreds of construction sites will also close. Supermarkets and pharmacies will stay open until 8pm, with a curfew starting from 9pm to 4am.
