The new Kia Sorento PHEV Driving in the city

Description

The Kia Sorento is even more versatile in the 2022 model year. The brand's SUV flagship, which is available as a plug-in hybrid, full hybrid and diesel, is already available with either five or seven seats, making it one of the few seven-seater part-time electric vehicles in the SUV segment. The 4.81 meter long model with a spacious interior and XXL luggage space (up to 910 liters, depending on the drive variant) can now also be ordered as a luxurious six-seater: the plug-in hybrid and the diesel are now in the top version Platinum instead of with a continuous bench optionally available with two individual comfort seats in the second row. They can be moved and tilted separately, each have an armrest on the side towards the center of the vehicle and have heated seats. In addition to a high level of travel comfort, this configuration also offers easier access to the third row due to the passage between the seats. Another innovation for the 2022 model year: The remote parking assistant, which allows the Sorento to drive into and out of a parking space autonomously by remote control and was previously only available for the diesel, will in future be available for all three drive variants (standard in platinum). Externally, the new model year can be recognized by the new Kia logo.

The 2024 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid carries over into the model year with very few changes. Runway Red exterior paint has been deleted as a color option, but customers can now pair the Gravity Blue paint color with the Navy interior color pack. The Navy interior color pack adds Navy perforated leather trim and a blue accent on the steering wheel. A gray headliner ties the navy them all together, a departure from the black headliner that came as part of the color pack last year. Aside from the minor color and trim changes, the Sorento PHEV continues to offer an all-in-one comprehensive package in the SX-P trim with standard AWD, a long list of standard Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the most passenger room and second-row legroom of any three-row PHEV SUV in its class

The Plug-in Hybrid is the second electrified drivetrain in the Sorento line-up and sits alongside the low-emissions Sorento Hybrid. The latest addition to the range blends a powerful 1.6-litre T-GDi Turbocharged Direct injection petrol engine with a high capacity battery pack and high output electric motor, allowing the driver to complete an average daily commute to work purely on all-electric, zero emissions power. And the low CO2 emissions of the all-new Sorento Plug-in Hybrid makes it attractive for business users, thanks to its super low company car Benefit-in-Kind taxation rates. While many plug-in hybrid vehicles result in compromise, the fourth generation Sorento was designed from the beginning to accommodate electrified powertrains and deliver spacious accommodation for up to seven occupants. The larger body and all-new platform ensure that the latest iteration of the Sorento is one of the most spacious, practical and versatile electrified models on the market.
