US National Guard deploys to support overwhelmed US hospitals

Description

At the UMass Medical Center in Massachusetts, and in 54 other US hospitals, National Guard members have been deployed to help support overwhelmed staff. The number of Covid and non-Covid cases are high, while hospital staff numbers are reduced by Covid cases among them. Soldiers and airmen are working in non-clinical roles, like transporting patients, security, collecting test samples, and patient observation.
