Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian will head to Moscow on Tuesday, his ministry said, days after negotiations to salvage the Iran nuclear deal stalled amid new Russian demands. FRANCE 24's Reza Sayah reports from Tehran, Iran.
The United States urges Moscow and Tehran to take the "decisions" needed to revive the 2015 nuclear accord, putting the ball squarely in their camp as last-minute Russian demands threatened to derail the process. "We remain confident that we can achieve mutual return to compliance in fairly short order" if decisions are "made in places like Tehran and Moscow," State Department spokesperson Ned Price tells reporters during a briefing after the European Union announced a pause in negotiations. The talks in Austria's capital are aimed at bringing the United States back into the world powers' 2015 deal with Tehran on its nuclear programme.
