Having just launched the EV6 to great international acclaim, Kia Corporation has stunned onlookers at the AutoMobility LA with the reveal of its all-electric SUV concept, the Kia Concept EV9.Seen as the clearest signal yet from Kia as to what might be the next addition to its new-generation EV lineup, the Concept EV9 epitomizes the brand’s recent leadership in designing and developing desirable, high-tech, zero-emissions vehicles.Just like the EV6, the Concept EV9 is known as a dedicated EV from Kia, having been carefully developed and optimized on the company’s advanced Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).Concept EV9 embodies Kia’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions, having recently showcased the company’s future vision at the ‘Kia Sustainability Movement’ digital presentation. The design of the vehicle was inspired by nature and uses upcycled materials developed from waste deposited into the fragile marine ecosystem.The SUV also offers striking visual aesthetics thanks to Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy.
Polestar announced its global expansion plans at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The Swedish Elektro Performance brand aims to be present in 30 global markets by the end of 2022.In July, Polestar had already doubled its stores in 2021 from nine to 18. The company aims to establish itself in a further twelve markets by 2022. The high demand in combination with an agile and unique business model, in which digitization is in the foreground, enables the enormous growth.Polestar's expansion plans for 2021 have expanded since it was announced in July to include new markets in the Middle East, including Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Luxembourg and Iceland will also join the growing European expansion. The schedules for the launch in the individual markets will be announced accordingly. Additional markets will be confirmed in due course.
The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand is accelerating its electrification push with the ACCELERATE strategy with the aim to make more sustainable mobility accessible to even more people. In 2025, two years earlier than originally planned, a new model in Volkswagen’s electrified portfolio is expected to enter the small car segment with a starting price of around 20,000 euros. Called ID. LIFE, Volkswagen presented a concept version of the compact crossover at the International Motor Show IAA MOBILITY 2021 in Munich.The vision of a fully electric small car for urban areas focuses on people and shared experiences. It combines more sustainable elements and digitalization with an exceptionally flexible usage approach. For example, the ID. LIFE concept could be used as a cinema, gaming center or simply to relax in the open air.
In commemoration of the legendary Countach’s 50th anniversary and V12 heritage, Automobili Lamborghini today debuted globally the next generation Countach LPI 800-4, alongside the North American premieres of the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae and Essenza SCV12 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The annual automotive event, held on the grounds of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club, returned for an 18th year and served as a prime location to commence the world-famous Monterey Car Week.The Countach LPI 800-4, an emblem of the brand’s past and future, was unveiled to a crowd of 5,000 guests by Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini. It harnesses a naturally-aspirated V12 engine and an electric motor delivering a maximum combined power of 814 cv and top speed of 221 miles per hour. A visionary masterpiece of the brand’s future, the Countach LPI-800-4 still brings forth the renowned design of the Countach from the 1970s. Only 112 units will be made, signifying the ‘LP 112’ nomenclature used during the original Lamborghini Countach’s development.
