Madrid, Oct 11 (EFE).- Around 85 Afghan refugees landed Monday at Spain's Torrejón de Ardoz air base on a plane from Islamabad, as part of the Spanish Government's operation to evacuate people who collaborated with the Spanish authorities in Afghanistan as well as their families.The group of Afghans, including several minors and women, was received by the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, and the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá. Rota, Aug 27 (EFE).- A great wave of solidarity overwhelmed the groups and associations of the Spanish coastal municipality of Rota Friday after they received clothes and food for the Afghan refugees who were going to arrive at the naval base.The Brotherhood of Christ of Love in Rota was among the first groups in the municipality to request through social networks donations of clothes, blankets and other goods that the Afghans refugees evacuated by the North American Government may need.
