US President Joe Biden has invited Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to a summit in Finland in a bid to de-escalate Russia’s military activity on the Ukrainian border. In recent weeks, Russia has amassed tens of thousands of troops in the border region and sent war ships to the Black Sea, causing consternation in Ukraine, the US and NATO allies.
