Seoul, Jul 14 (EFE/EPA).- South Korea registered a new daily record of Covid-19 cases on Wednesday with 1,615, prompting authorities to extend restrictions outside the capital region due to the increase in infections in less populated areas.Of the 1,615 new infections, 1,568 occurred domestically and 47 were found in people coming from abroad, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said.Greater Seoul, where more than half of the country lives and around 80 percent of new cases have been recorded, has been under the highest restriction level since Monday, closing nighclubs, holding classes online and prohibiting meetings of more than two people between 6 pm and 5 am. Colombo, Aug 10 (EFE/EPA).-According to the Health Authorities of Sri Lanka, 111 Covid-19 deaths were reported in Sri Lanka on Monday, the highest ever number recorded on a daily basis. The Indian Ocean island nation is currently in the midst of the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic and the number of cases is increasing day by day. Sri Lanka has so far recorded a total of 332,947 Covid-19 cases with 5,222 deaths while a total of 11,260,795 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 3,249,670 have already received the second one.
