The vaccination rate has slowed down in Romania. In other European countries, governments push for stricter measures against the unvaccinated amid soaring coronavirus infections.
"Some 90 per cent of the hospitalised patients are not vaccinated," Adrian Marinescu, medical director of the Matei Bals Infectious Diseases Hospital said.
While the eyes of the world focus on the Covid-19 pandemic, the fight against HIV has slowed down in Romania. The pandemic has deprived at-risk groups of access to health services and testing, as well as disrupting supply chains and medicine supplies, raising fears of a rise in cases.
France's main Covid-19 indicators all showed some signs of improvement on Tuesday as French President Emmanuel Macron plans to relax restrictions in the next few weeks. French health authorities said the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units fell by 58 to 5,943, after the ICU tally set a one-year high of 6,001 on Monday.
