Jordan Klepper Looks Back on Covering Trump Rallies

Description

While on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, former 'Daily Show' correspondent Jordan Klepper recalled 'nightmare stores' while on in the field. Klepper, who covered then-Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s many rallies during the 2016 campaign, said supporters of the now-president once accused him of working for Hillary Clinton and the FBI. Klepper explained, "People were snickering at a battery pack I was wearing during a rally.

  • Trump Has Back Of Jim Jordan On OSU Sex Abuse Allegations

Reuters reports that U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not believe allegations by several former wrestlers at Ohio State University coached by Republican Representative Jim Jordan that he was aware the team doctor was molesting them. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling to Montana, “Jim Jordan is one of the most outstanding people I’ve met since I’ve been in Washington. I believe him 100 percent." The allegations were reported on Tuesday by NBC News. The network said Jordan was the assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State from 1986 to 1994. Jordan's name has been floated as a possible successor to retiring House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan. He has said since Ohio State announced in April that it was investigating former team doctor Richard Strauss that he was previously unaware of the molestation allegations. The NBC report said former wrestler Mike DiSabato told the network that before going to the university with the molestation charges, he reached out to Jordan, who told him to “Please leave me out of it.”

  • Late-Night Hosts Snubbed by Trump's Fake News Awards

President Trump handed out what he modestly called the “Highly-Anticipated 2017 Fake News Awards” Wednesday night. Trump’s score-settling and shaming of the media began, echoing the score-settling and shaming of the media that Trump dishes out most mornings on Twitter. The winners included some of the news organizations that he once branded “the enemy of the American People” in one of his more infamous tweets. CNN was cited four times; the New York Times twice. The rest of the list was filled out with Trump’s accomplishments, giving the whole exercise a self-congratulatory air. Late Nite hosts were snubbed. “I’m sad to say The Late Show was snubbed. … But at least, for once, we didn’t lose to John Oliver,” Stephen Colbert said during his opening monologue. Jimmy Kimmel created his own ceremony dubbed the "Dishonest and Corrupt President Awards."
