Fake Suicide Belts Released

Description

Authorities said, the London Bridge attackers wore fake explosive belts that had water bottles wrapped in silver tape. They may have planned to create a "siege situation" during their terror rampage. Photos released by police on Saturday show leather-made belts linked to disposable water bottles covered in tape. Cmdr. Dean Haydon of the Metropolitan Police, who's leading the investigation, said, "I have not seen this tactic in the UK before -- where terrorists create maximum fear by strapping fake explosives to themselves."

  • New Joaquin Phoenix 'Joker' Footage Released

According to ComicBook.com, DC has released footage from the new Joker movie that shows Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck smoking a cigarette after seemingly causing some kind of chaos. This scene of Fleck making his way out of the subway seems to fit with earlier photos and videos released, which reveal a sequence featuring Fleck and a bunch of other characters dressed like clowns invading a train. The subtle suggestions are that there will be a definite socio-political angle to this version of the Joker, with Phoenix's Arthur Fleck possibly being the metaphorical embodiment of a certain major political figure of today.

  • Two Men Released Without Charge Over Fake Terror Scare At Oxford Circus

Two men who handed themselves in for questioning over an altercation that spread mass panic at London's Oxford Circus on Friday have been released by police without arrest or charge, according to multiple reports. The men, aged 21 and 40, volunteered for questioning on Saturday, after the British Transport Police said they believed the incident began with two men brawling on a Central Line platform at Oxford Circus tube station. The altercation set off mass panic, with passengers fleeing from Oxford Circus station, and passers-by on street level frantically reporting sounds of gunfire. The panic sent nearby offices into lockdown, while shoppers fled stores in the belief a gunman was on the rampage. 15 people were injured in the stampedes. Police initially treated the incident as a possible terrorist attack, but later said they had not found evidence of shooting or a gunman. While the incident turned out to be trivial, it took place on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, Black Friday. The panic is also indicative of public worry around a prospective terror attack, after four incidents in London alone this year.
