U.S. Puts Sanctions On Iran Over Ballistic Missile Program

Description

On Tuesday the Trump administration unveiled new economic sanctions against Iran over its ballistic missile program and for contributing to regional tensions. The sanctions come one day after Tehran received a warning from the U.S. that it wasn't keeping its nuclear agreement with world powers. 16 entities and individuals are being targeted by the Department of Treasury sanctions for "illicit Iranian actors or transnational criminal activity." The U.S. says those being sanctioned are responsible for backing Iran's military or the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
