R2-D2 Sells For Nearly $3 Million At Auction

At a recent auction in Los Angeles an R2-D2 unit sold for nearly $3 million. The 43-inch unit is reportedly comprised of screen-used parts from several Star Wars films, indulging the 1977 original and the 2002 Attack of the Clones. Auction house Profiles in History noted in its auction catalog that while R2-D2 looks the part, it has "no internal mechanics or workings." Profiles in History claims that it is the only complete unit available to the public.
