'Fluffy' the great white shark heads back to sea

A baby great white shark that stunned onlookers when it washed up on a popular Sydney beach is released back into the ocean after spending the night in an aquarium.

    Scientists have confirmed nine shark sightings in the Atlantic ocean, off the Cape Cod coast. Researchers from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries are surveying the area off the coast of Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts. According to Geek.com, the team of scientists is doing field work with a research vessel and with the help of a spotter pilot on Cape Cod Bay.

  • Tiger Shark Found With Jaw Removed, Stomach Cut Out

    Geek.com reports a tiger shark was found on a South Carolina beach with its teeth and jaw removed and stomach cut open. The 9-foot shark washed up on a few miles north of Hilton Head Island earlier this week. The state's Department of Natural Resources shark biologist Bryan Frazier said that a local sea turtle protection team came upon the carcass and sent photos to state officials. Frazier said the juvenile tiger shark looked as though it had been cut open by a human, but not by scientists.
