Most London Police Don't Carry Guns

According to NBC News, 90% of London police don't carry a gun on a daily basis. NBC explains that "The Metropolitan Police, which covers most of London," was founded in 1829 on the idea of "'policing by consent,' not force. Statistics say that in 2016 London police "were at the scene of about "3,300 deployments involving firearms," but no suspects were shot. NBC reports that in 2016 over 1,000 people were killed by the police in the U.S. Instead of guns, most London police rely on tools like mace, handcuffs, stun-guns.
