US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the "daily toll on civilians in Gaza, particularly on children is far to high" during a press conference in Tel Aviv. Blinken is on a week-long trip aimed at calming tensions across the Middle East, amid continuing battles between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza. SOUNDBITE
The United States has urged Israel to avoid civilian casualties in its war on Hamas but some will be inevitably hurt in the "messy" conflict, the White House says. "This is war. It is combat.
