A new study says a hormone naturally in humans and mice could potentially treat obesity. Researchers say the LCN2 hormone has previously been shown to make mice feel full after a meal. The hormone is secreted by bone cells and found naturally in mice and humans. The study found that the LCN2 hormone was also associated with a reduced feeling of hunger after a meal. LCN2 acts as a signal for satiety after a meal, leading mice to limit their food intake, and it does this by acting on the hypothalamus within the brain.
