The rugged Volvo V60 Cross Country is the latest addition to the company's line-up of brand new Volvos that underpins the company's transformation in recent years.Like its V60 sibling that was launched earlier this year on the driveway of a Stockholm villa, the Volvo V60 Cross Country personifies the versatile Swedish family estate. To that profile, it adds the capability on and off the beaten track that has defined Volvo's Cross Country range since its introduction in 1997, taking the V60 from the suburb to the skogen (Swedish for forest).Ground clearance for the Volvo V60 Cross Country is up to 75mm higher than the regular V60, thanks to the specially developed Cross Country chassis and suspension that enhance the car's off-road capability. All-wheel-drive is standard on the new V60 Cross Country, as are Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Corner Traction Control and a special Off-Road driving mode.Like its 60 Series and 90 Series stablemates, the new V60 Cross Country benefits from Volvo Cars' award-winning Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system.The new Volvo V60 Cross Country is also available through Volvo Cars' premium subscription service Care by Volvo, which offers car access via a monthly flat-fee subscription rather than ownership. Reflecting Volvo Cars' industry-first announcement to electrify all new cars from 2019, the Volvo V60 comes with two plug-in hybrid powertrain options: the new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 340 hp, or the T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that delivers 390 hp.

"The new Jaguar XE 300 SPORT has made its debut by setting a unique lap record. The special edition sports saloon became the first car to complete a flying lap of the world’s longest artificial outdoor ice circuit, at Flevonice in the Netherlands - but it had to beat a Winter Olympic gold medallist skater to set the fastest time. After anchoring Hungary to gold in the 5,000m relay at the 2018 Winter Olympics, speed skater Shaolin Sándor Liu set a tough benchmark, negotiating the track at Flevonice Sports and Funpark in 4 minutes 4 seconds. To give the icy time trial an extra edge, Shaolin’s girlfriend – Team GB skater Elise Christie – was part of team Jaguar. With Elise in the passenger seat, the XE 300 SPORT took full advantage of Jaguar’s advanced all-wheel drive and sophisticated traction technologies to maintain its composure. Jaguar Stability Development Leader Sean Haughey lapped the track in 3 minutes 3 seconds at an average speed of 36mph."
