Residents in Russia’s Nakhodka had a disturbing surprise when they stumbled across two kittens that had been thrown into a bucket full of tar.
The sounds of meowing coming from a pipe alerted a local to the plight of a feline stuck somewhere deep underground in the Russian town of Voronezh on September 25. The trapped kitten was discovered by a resident of a nearby house, who first investigated the pipe before calling for help. Some workers nearby came to help out in the rescue efforts and they soon discovered that a cat was indeed stuck in the pipe at a depth of about 5 feet and organized a rescue effort to pull her out.
One super curious kitty decided to explore an uninstalled sink and got her head caught in the drain section in the Latvian coastal town of Saulkrasti last weekend. Rescue workers arrived on scene and tried to remove the kitty by applying soap to her head and squeezing her back out the way she came, but that tactic didn't seem to work. In the end, they proceeded to break the sink with a hammer, freeing the feckle little feline from her plight and leaving her completely unharmed.
If a cat has nine lives, this lucky kitten certainly lost one of on Thursday after becoming stranded in front of oncoming traffic on a Kaliningrad highway. It's not exactly clear how the little kitty got on the highway in the first place, but the footage shows at the tiny feline manages to evade several vehicles before a good samaritan stops on the highway.
Acting director of Israel's Sheba Medical Center Arnon Afek says that the two hostages rescued in overnight operation are in a "stable condition". IMAGES
