Hunger has forced many Nigerian refugees in northern Cameroon to return to dangerous Boko Haram territory.

Description

Aid workers are facing their most-feared season in the Lake Chad Basin, where one of the worst refugee crisis on the African Continent is taking place. Refugees fleeing violence from the islamist sect Boko Haram, are in crucial need of food as they enter the 'Lean Period' - the cropless season between June and September. With less food available, and depleted stocks it's also known as the "hunger season".
