Cannes: Lynch arrives on red carpet for 'Twin Peaks', season 3

Description

Fifteen years since his last appearance at Cannes, David Lynch - who received the Palme d'or for "Wild at Heart" in 1990, won the attention of most at the festival, as he makes his television comeback with the third season of "Twin Peaks".

    In a new interview 'Twin Peaks' co-creator Mark Frost sheds some light on the show's mysterious ending to its recent third season. Frost explains to Empire Magazine, "It’s Orpheus descending into the Underworld. You are playing with deep, profound, mysterious forces that will have unintended consequences. In the old mythology, as a mortal, to cross into the realm of what was thought of as the gods’, meant you risked everything.   • David Bowie to Appear in 'Twin Peaks' Season 3?

    According to reports, there is a faint possibility that the late, great David Bowie may appear in Showtime's 'Twin Peaks' as his character from the original series, Agent Philip Jeffries. Bowie passed away in January 2016, right in the middle of the eight-month filming of the series, which is currently airing. Though he was working to finish his final album, Blackstar at the time, it is possible that he may have also filmed a scene or two on the side.

  • 'Twin Peaks' Premiere Brings Cast, Creators Out For Red Carpet

    After being canceled in 1991, Showtime has revived the seminal television series Twin Peaks and will premiere its latest scene almost 27 years to the day after it first ended. Most of the original cast of Twin Peaks is returning, along with a slew of new faces. Fans of the original series are extremely excited for the return. For those actually performing in the revival there's the added bonus of collaborating with David Lynch. Lynch directs each of the new episodes written with co-creator Mark Frost. Both new and old players in Twin Peaks can't speak highly enough of Lynch or the world he created. As they arrived to the show's red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on Friday, it was hard for them to contain their excitement.

  • More ‘Twin Peaks’ Or No?

    Showtime viewers may not be visiting the town of “Twin Peaks” again — at least, not anytime soon. When asked about a potential return, Showtime Programming President Gary Levine said, “We’re thrilled we did ‘Twin Peaks.’ Absolutely thrilled. The work was extraordinary, the fan reaction was extraordinary and it was incredibly good for our brand and our network.” He added that “What David did in the last two years was nothing short of Herculean,” Lynch directed, wrote, edited and composed music for all 18 hours of the 2017 “Twin Peaks” comeback. He even acted in it, as well. Levine continued, “I don’t know how soon he wants to do it."
