Lima, Jun 19 (EFE).- Thousands of supporters of both the leftist Pedro Castillo and right-wing candidate Keiko Fujimori marched this Saturday in Lima as Peruvians were still waiting for their next president to be confirmed. With 100 percent of the ballots counted, Castillo received 50.12 percent of the vote and Fujimori garnered 49.87 percent, a margin of victory of just 44,058 votes.But the leftist candidate has not been officially declared the winner due to appeals filed by Fujimori in a bid to annul 200,000 votes cast in rural, highland areas that overwhelmingly support Castillo. Trump and his supporters have been irritated by Fox News since it called the state of Arizona for Joe Biden on election night. According to Axios Trump could have his eyes set on creating his own news network to directly compete with Fox. Major news outlets including CNN, MSNBC, and the Associated Press called the election on Saturday for former Vice President Joe Biden. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump spent Saturday golfing at his golf club in Virginia. According to Business Insider, Biden was named the winner after his lead in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania surpassed 30,000 votes. Insider and its election partner, Decision Desk HQ, projected the race in the former Vice President's favor on Friday. Not long before major networks announced that Biden was the projected winner, Trump falsely claimed victory in the election.
On Tuesday, U.S. stock futures rose. Dow futures were up 207 points, or nearly 0.8%. The Dow closed Tuesday up 555 points, or 2.1%, higher, its best percentage gain since mid-July. S&P 500 futures climbed 0.7%. The S&P 500 closed 1.8% higher, its best day in a month. Nasdaq futures gained 0.5%. The Nasdaq Composite finished 1.9% higher — its best performance since mid-October. According to CNN investors are hoping for a second government stimulus.
A large group of supporters of President Donald Trump slowed and stopped traffic on a portion of the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey on Sunday. Multiple videos posted to social media showed vehicles flying Trump flags stopped on the highway as their occupant blew their car horns and cheered loudly. Local media reports the incident took place in the express lanes and along the Parkway's grassy shoulder areas, in the Holmdel area of the state. On Friday, a caravan of Trump supporters closely followed a Biden-Harris campaign bus, leading to a collision and the cancelation of several Democratic Party events. MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle said the Chessequake area express lanes were 'basically shut down.' She tweeted, 'Trump supporters out of their cars with flags.'
