Tyler, the Creator Talks About Quitting His Job Days Before Plain Pat Flew Him to New York for the First Time

Description

Tyler, the Creator stopped by Los Angeles' Real 92.3 Tuesday morning for an interview with Big Boy. Never one to bite his tongue, Tyler spoke frankly about his contempt for social media, why he doesn't like Coachella, and Cherry Bomb. But most interesting was his story about his first couple of jobs. After he was fired from Starbucks his mom made him get a job at FedEx. It only took him two and a half weeks to quit, and just days later Plain Pat flew him to New York and helped spark his career.

  • 'Rogue One' Director Gareth Edwards Talks Making 'The Creator' On His Own Terms

There are very few filmmakers who have as much experience with massive science-fiction as Gareth Edwards, who we recently interviewed through our partnership with AMC Theatres, where tickets for the movie are on sale. After getting his start on the lower-budget, 2010 creature feature "Monsters," Edwards graduated to Hollywood storytelling with the 2014 resuscitation of "Godzilla." And that film ended up being so impressive, Lucasfilm came calling with an offer to tackle a Star Wars film. The end result, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," still is considered by many Star Wars fans to be one of the finest movies made in the post-prequel era. Sci-fi fans couldn’t wait to see what he did next. But the wait ended up taking longer than expected. Gareth Edwards follows up "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" with The Creator (in theaters September 29), and the film already is generating raves worthy of a Star Wars successor. The film tackles the complicated topic of Artificial Intelligence and finds John David Washington tracking the development of a weapon that actually looks like a child (played by Madeleine Yuna Voyles). When we got the chance to sit down with Edwards and discuss the creation of "The Creator," he opened up about making the movie on his own terms. #thecreator #garethedwards #movies SUBSCRIBE to CinemaBlend's channel HERE - https://www.youtube.com/cinemablend For the latest entertainment news and analysis go here: Movie News:  http://www.cinemablend.com/news.php/ Movie Reviews: http://www.cinemablend.com/reviews/ TV News: http://www.cinemablend.com/television/ Celebrity News: http://www.cinemablend.com/pop/ Superheroes: http://www.cinemablend.com/superheroes/ Movie Trailers & Film Clips:  http://www.cinemablend.com/trailers/

  • 'Party Monster' Dead At 54

(Newser) – He lived a life so wild that it was the subject not only of a Hollywood feature film but a documentary to boot. But that life ended on Christmas Eve in a way that might not be surprising to those familiar with 54-year-old Michael Alig: an apparent heroin overdose in New York City, reports the Daily News. Tina Moore and Kate Sheehy of the New York Post sum things up: "Alig’s death was the final chapter in a sordid, sensational—and decidedly cautionary—tale about striving to become famous in the Big Apple and ultimately succumbing to its excesses."
