Researchers have successfully taught volunteers to use a mind-controlled robotic arm to carry out two separate tasks simultaneously.
An American teenager says the robotic arm he invented in his bedroom could be a platform for future prosthetic limbs and first responder machinery. As Jim Drury reports he says the mind control mechanism can also be 3D printed for less than 600 dollars.
A Swedish amputee who became the first person to ever receive a brain controlled prosthetic arm is able to manipulate and handle delicate objects with an unprecedented level of dexterity. The device is connected directly to his bone, nerves and muscles, giving him the ability to control it with his thoughts. Matthew Stock reports.
