Demonstrators Clash With Police in London Anti-austerity Protest

Description

Tensions continued to be high Wednesday as the crazy scenes between protesters and police in London carried on during the opening day of parliament in Westminster. Some protestors chanted "David Cameron has got to go," as they walked through the streets of London on the same day as the Queen's Speech, which officially opened the new Conservative-led parliament. Protesters angry at the new government's austerity measures put on masks and carried signs as they demonstrated against the cuts. There were three arrests following the protests at Whitehall.
