This year’s ‘Pikachu Outbreak’ has as the theme ‘Science is Amazing’, with some 1,500 chubby, yellow Pikachus parading down the streets and greeting visitors at Yokohama’s Minato Mirai harbour district.
Japan Railways East unveiled an entire Pikachu-themed train where the adorable yellow and brown Pokemon is nearly everywhere on a sight-seeing train in the country's earthquake-stricken region, as part of a disaster relief project. The train will begin its daily service July 15th and run throughout the summer holiday season on the Ofunato Line. It will depart at Ichinoseki and arrive in Kesennuma in just under two hours.
