Macy's will be closing 100 stores, most in 2017. The company is planning to invest in its online operations after six quarters of falling sales. Bobbi Rebell reports.

We've closed our stores in the DC area and sent our team members home. Target closed down its stores earlier this year when protests following the killing of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. After looting at some stores in Minnesota, Target temporarily closed 24 locations in the state.
Macy's department stores will be closing 45 stores across the U.S. The retail giant said the closures are part of a plan to close one-fifth of their stores by 2023. According to Business Insider, Macy's also announced that it would cut 2,000 corporate jobs. Liquidation sales have already begun at some locations, while others will begin by the end of the month. Macy's said they will release a list of locations on Wednesday that will be closing this year.
