Portugal gatecrashed France's Euro 2016 party to win the European Championship for the first time in its history and all this without leading star Cristiano Ronaldo. A super strike by substitute Edér was the difference between the two teams, who both hit the hit woodwork during the match. "They managed to achieve without Cristiano Ronaldo, proving to other teams that one or two great players do not win a trophy, but that a proud, inspired team, with a nation behind it, is what it takes to win the most coveted trophy in European football."

Saturday 11th June : England played against Russia in Marseille. Although they were the favorites, England tied 1 - 1 with Russia. The game really started during the second-half in which both teams had opportunities to score. Dier scored from a wonderful free-kick at the 73’. While the English were way more confident, Russia finally scored at the very end of the game (90’). It is such a disappointment for both the Lions and all the British supporters who had massively come to Marseille.
