Called the 816 Nuclear Military Plant, the former underground fallout shelter and nuclear energy production facility is now recognized as the world's largest man-made cave. Hidden under the mountains in China's Chongqing region, the 816 plant served as the fall-back contingency location for Chinese political and military leadership in case of nuclear war, but the secretive location has now opened its doors to the public for the first time in October.
