Philadelphia Transit Strike Ends, Avoiding Election Day Mess

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia's seven-day transit strike is over. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says the city's main transit agency and the union representing about 4,700 workers reached an agreement early Monday. SEPTA Board Chairman Pasquale Deon said it is a fair deal that provides "wage increases, pension improvements, and maintains health care coverage levels while addressing rising costs.
