Description

In The Dressmaker, Kate Winslet plays Tilly, a dressmaker who returns to her hometown in Australia to find out the truth about a childhood trauma. Winslet's opening line in the film is, "I'm back, you bastards," which gives you an immediate taste of her character's comedic, strong spirit. In an industry that constantly puts aging heartthrobs in roles where they're romantically involved with significantly younger women, the film is a refreshing turn on that model.
