The Nobel Prize in Literature 2016 was awarded to American songwriter Bob Dylan during ceremony in Stockholm, Thursday. As explained by Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy Sara Danius, Dylan was awarded the prize "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition

Fans of Bob Dylan gather outside the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, where Dylan is set to perform concerts on the first stop of a long-planned European tour. The singer-songwriter is also set to receive the Nobel Prize for literature at a secret location, after failing to attend the main Nobel ceremony. IMAGES
