AMC Renews ‘Halt and Catch Fire’


On Monday, AMC announced that it has renewed the program “Halt and Catch Fire” for a fourth and final season. The news comes the day before the show's two-part Season 3 finale. While 'Halt and Catch Fire' has never been much of a ratings performer, AMC remained committed to it as an addition to its growing original shows. The program's co-creators and showrunners Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers said in a statement, "It has been our great privilege to watch the world of Halt and Catch Fire expand and mature in that time, powered by our incredible cast, our exceptional crew and our absurdly talented writers The final season of 'Halt and Catch Fire' will air over 10 episodes sometime in 2017.

The network added that the show will also air on Tuesday nights this year, after debuting on Sundays throughout its first two seasons. Halt and Catch Fire has gradually improved throughout its run, and it’s reportedly bringing back its entire main cast. As for moving to Tuesdays, it cuts both ways with the switch moving the show out of competition with the other cable Sunday shows, but also putting it up against new episodes of Fall network programs debuting on the same night.
