Original E.T. Movie Poster Sells For Hundreds of Thousands

WHo knew posters could sell for so much? This week the original painting that served as the movie poster for Steven Spielberg's classic E.T. has sold for nearly $400,000 at auction. The poster was hanging for 13 years on the wall of Bob Bendetson. Bendetson is a writer and producer on shows like ALF and The Simpsons. The painting which was signed by the artist, John Alvin was bought for exactly $394,000 by an anonymous buyer. E.T.is now a cult classic being one of the highest grossing movies of the 1980's.
