‘Walking Dead’ Creator Robert Kirkman Says Glenn's Death Was Necessary

Fans of 'The Walking Dead' looking for justice in the case of Steven Yeun's character Glenn, need to move on. According to show creator Robert Kirkman, the death was necessary. He states, "It’s just that there’s a lot of material that comes from Glenn’s death in the comics. So it was kind of essential that that part of the scene at least remained intact, unfortunately. We did discuss options. At the end of the day, we were like, pulling the thread on this sweater just pulls too many things apart and it’s too difficult to get back on that trajectory without that death.”

'The Walking Dead' Season 9 Premiere Episode Follows Source Material

According to Comicbook.com, "The Walking Dead followed its source material quite closely with the Season Nine premiere. The AMC show aired its Episode 9x01 on Sunday night, with Gregory having been killed in true-to-the-comics form and Maggie and Daryl not exactly seeing eye to eye with Rick Grimes."
