An elephant fell into 25 feet deep well in Welikanda, eastern Sri Lanka. After the situation turned increasingly bleak, locals have to think on their feet how to rescue the creature - resorting to pouring gravel on it so that it could scramble out of the hole.
This wild baby elephant fell into a hole filled with mud while traveling with his herd in the Nilgiris Mountains in southern India. Trumpeting loudly in panic and fear, the elephant and his family alerted forest workers, who mounted a full scale rescue operation. Dozens of workers, tamed elephants, heavy vehicles, and a bulldozer worked five gruelling hours before finally freeing the trapped pachyderm.
